Faro reef

Faro reef

Named after the lighthouse of Meloneras and close to the dunes of maspalomas. The dive site is an area not many dive company’s know about and only a 10 minute sail from our harbour. The reef starts close to the lighthouse and ends at the reef of Pasito blanco.

Needless to say that because of the length and the untouched reef, we still see a lot of sponges and marine life. Around the reef is a big sandy area where we spot angel sharks, eagle rays and of course a lot of stingrays. The reef itself only has a length of 400 metres with some overhangs which are booming with a large variety of life. In the corner of the reef we often spot a big shoal of grunds (roncadores), and therefore often see barracudas. There is one big overhang where we occasionally see turtles and one day we even saw a big nurse shark. For this reason make sure you come and visit this reef with us and our boat ATLANTIS!
